Ahnentafel is a German word meaning "ancestry table". It is a simple numbering scheme where a person's direct ancestors are listed in a fixed sequence of ascent.
Each ahnentafel chart begins with an individual subject, who is person number 1. The formula for each subsequent ancestors is as follows:
Person's father = Person's number x 2
Person's mother = Person's father + 1
The format would look like this:
There are several Ahnentafel tables throughout these pages. In them, I may include details for each person, such as birth ("b."), death ("d."), marriage ("m."), and children.
Some pages may display a simplified Lineage, which is a numbered list by generation starting with an ancestor and ending with the subject of the lineage.
